Food. Family. Pixels.

Starting solids.
One messy meal
at a time.

Purees and finger foods. We used both.

I'm a dad who wanted to feed our baby well without cooking a separate dinner every night. This guide brings together the recipes, freezer backups, and small things that helped our family.

Inside the guide

A plan for the week.
Room for real life.

Some days our son joined the family meal. Other days we reached for a puree from the freezer. This is how we made the two approaches work together.

01 / THE FREEZER BACKUP

Batch-cooked purees

Our Saturday cooking routine: a protein, a carbohydrate, and a vegetable. Meals ready for the days when dinner needs a backup.

From the book: Chicken, Rice and Broccoli

02 / THE FAMILY TABLE

Meals we shared

Everyday cooking with adaptations for the little eater at the table. Family recipes, serving notes, and less separate cooking.

From the book: Sweet Potato Fish Cakes · Vegetable Pancakes · Burger Night

03 / THE LITTLE EXTRAS

Baking and frozen treats

Waffles, muffins, cookies, and frozen treats we made alongside our regular meals. Plus practical chapters on gear, pantry staples, and the hard days.

From the book: Avocado Waffles · Banana Blueberry Muffins

Written in English, with US measurements and a metric conversion appendix.

A dad behind the pixels

Built around our
family table.

When our son started solids, we tried purees, finger foods, and plenty of combinations. My wife and I found our way through the recipes, the kitchen mess, and the meals that ended up on the floor.

I wrote this guide to share what worked for us. Pixelated Papa brings together that family experience and my love of pixel art and gaming.

A family's experience, shared by a dad. The guide is not a substitute for advice from your child's healthcare professional.
